Good news to LG users who were hoping to get some Apple Siri or Samsung S-Voice alike feature so you can literally talk with your phone, LG recently announced its “Quick Voice” service that allows you to use your voice to control your phone. To be available on selected LG Optimus devices, hopefully the Optimus 3D Max we have for review right now, Quick Voice will be able to perform several actions such as loading applications (alarm, calendar and 11 other applications), voice call/text, voice maps, and web search.
According to the translated text in LG’s News Room, you can even have a “natural conversation between your phone”, so instead of telling Quick Voice to search for songs from SNSD, a popular Korean band, all you need to do is say “Girls on YouTube I need you”. We’re not quite sure if this will work on English since this is a Korean version but it’ll be interesting if it works on all supported languages.
Additionally for the Korean market, you can also check the lunar calendar dates by asking Quick Voice what is the corresponding date in the lunar calendar. This could also be an added feature for Chinese users because if I’m not mistaken, they share the same lunar calendar dates with the Koreans.
Quick Voice is expected to be launched at the end of June and will be applied through an upgrade in July.
